A step-by-step guide to keeping your Bellagio & Co jewellery sparkling clean
Sterling silver, like other precious metals, can oxidise with time. However, there are a few simple steps you can take to slow down this process.
Step 1:
Store your silver jewellery in a cool and dry place. Humidity can be enemy #1 for silver and can lead to unwanted tarnishing.
Step 2:
Store your silver in a tarnish-preventative bag, wrap it in a soft piece of felt or in a cloth made of 100% cotton.
Step 3:
Avoid cosmetic scratching and other damage by storing pieces individually, rather than together. For instance, a set of earrings should be stored in two separate bags so they do not knock together.
Step 4:
Clean your silver jewellery with a soft 100% cotton cloth. Avoid paper, polyester or other coarse fabrics, as they can cause surface scratching. For any stubborn debris/dirt that you cannot remove with your cotton cloth, use a jewellery cleaner that is appropriate for sterling silver.
Step 5:
Avoid wearing sterling silver in chlorinated water, or when working with household chemicals
Step 6:
If you choose not to wear your Bellagio and Co. pieces for long periods of time, please store them in the box or bag that came with them.
Congratulations! You now know how to keep your Bellagio and Co. jewellery in pristine condition to enjoy for many years to come.
